ok, well i have a 2ch and mono i'm using in my car. I get horrible engine when and goes higher as it revs. Well, from what I figure I have a ground loop problem. I work most of the day and have a in-dash and regular radio hooked up, so i have WAY too many wire behind my dash and i would like help before i attempt. (hard to get all the wires behind my dash) i did a quick test, I unplugged my 2ch amp well of course no speakers hooked up so no noise. On to the next test, i unhooked my rca's to my mono amp, NO noise at all!! but crap no bump no either...lol ok then i try to switch the rca's in the mono amp like left in right. still noise then i tried using my rca's from my rear preout (not hooked to anything) still noise so does this mean i need to put my grounds closer? b/c it only makes noise if both are hooked up. my mono is in the trunk, and 2ch under the seat. oh and can i use a power distribution block for my grounds? or is there a ground distribution block?
yes M.S. the noise stopped after i unhooked the rca's from the mono amp....basically if i only have one amp hooked up i get no noise. I have a pioneer premier 860mp 3 preouts ---all are hooked up, 1 (front)is currently being used for my front speakers. 2- (rear) is hooked up but not connected to anything just sitting under my seat. 3 - (sub) when i disconnect it no noise on my highs at all. I tried using #2 but get noise, of course if i disconnect #1 i can't tell cuz no speakers are hooked up. I was thinking it's my ground b/c i tried #2 but still got noise
ok well i fixed it guys, don't know what was wrong but i took my ground loop isolator off my 2ch amp and put it on my mono amp now NO noise at any level, yes i still had noise with it disconnected....noise is probably due to me using walmart rca's. I do have stinger rca's but i'm waiting to put them in my new ride this summer
