say i have an amp that does 4kwrms @ 1ohm. now say i fused it lower (150a) and gave it smaller ga power/ground (4ga) wire than i should, but only ran it at a higher ohm (say 2, producing 2000wrms) to the point where the wire/fuse could handle it, would i be ok?

you sure? i figured if i don't make it draw more current than the wires and fuse can handle, it would be fine...

now that i think about it though, i would fuse it correctly, but keep 4ga temporarily. i would only push enough for my battery to hold 14v+

you'll only draw as much current through the power wire as the amplifier needs.
if you run the amp at 2 ohms, that makes it a 2Kw amp, and you should use power wire and fusing approptiate to that amount of current.. dividing 2000 by 12.
