Girl with Junk (Bump) in the trunk

Then again they do say the only stupid question is one not asked. I'm currently in the process of upgrading my factory system. I love the bump in the trunk and wanted a little for myself. I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile. I have 2 12cvr2 in a ported box and a zx750.1. I'm now deciding on my speakers for the mids and highs. Sound quality is important and I want it loud. Maybe Focals, or Infinty Kappas, or anything that sounds great. (Diamond if the price is right) My budget is important, so don't want to spend more than 200 on the component set for the front. (Same goes for rear fill) I have absolutely no clue what amp to get. My biggest dilemna however is accessories. I;m not sure if they are a neccessity in order for the system and car. (alternators,capacitors,fuses,equalizer,capacitor,batteries) Any suggestions with substance from people who know what they're talking about and an explanation is appreciated. |

Post Number: 1723 Registered: Jul-06 | If you're running subwoofers the rear fill will be drown out from the bass and pretty much make rear speakers useless in most applications,unless it's a vehicle with a very large cabin I wouldn't even bother changing the stock rear speakers,just tune them with an EQ if you decide to keep them.I don't think you'll need an alternator upgrade but what kind of vehicle are you installing this in?Most systems running under 1,000 watts RMS don't need an alternator upgrade but let us know the vehicle and we can help you a little more. |

Platinum Member Username: GlasswolfWisteria, Lane USA Post Number: 11797 Registered: Dec-03 | forget rear fill unless you want passengers in the back to have full range sound. otherwise rear fill just destroys your imaging for the front speakers. get a good set of two-way separates for the front, and use kick pods to house them. amplify them with a decent two channel amp.. about 50-75 watts per channel. don't worry too much about the charging system unless you experience voltage drops while using the system. |

I may love focal while you despise them. Go to your local audio store and ask them to listen to a few pairs. If possible ask the installers and shop guys if they have them running in their own personal cars so you can hear them in a real life situation and not on a sound board. |

At the end, I doubt you can go wrong with rainbows from what I've read. |

I'd skip Rainbow if you're in the US. They've had a wealth of problems keeping an importer/authorized dealer company here.
