So i found out that my amp has an unregulated power supply. It is rated at 1300wrms @ 12.6v. i really want to bench the thing but nobody around here does that... i also think it's underrated (usually RF amps are right?). is there any way i can find what it puts out at 14.4v on my own?
well... going by what the manual says for typical draw, it comes out to 1296 at 14.4. so that can't be right. by sine wave it comes to over 2000... its the x7 btw...
How would you actually calculate an amps efficiency ? Could you do it from published specs or wouuld you need the amp powered in front of you?
Obviously, power in = power out but I mean, measure voltage and current(if possible?) going IN, and then same for OUT and divide the two ? multiply by 100?
see the x7.a and .b are are the ones rated at 1500 while the regular version (mine) is 1300. something i caught after i bought it and wasn't happy about
