On mine, I have a metal bar across the top of the trunk in front of my rear speakers that is part of the chassis. I just grounded there and it works fine.
Find any bolt close and take it off and sand around it. Or you can just sand a spot and take a self tapping screw and drill it through. Make sure the spot is clear underneath where you drill.
well i sanded down under the rear seatbelt mounts and grounded there and it wasnt a good enough ground so then i sanded a new place down under the back seat drilled 2 holes and screwd down the mounting bracket that came with my 4 guage wiring kit and it still was not enough ground
word well thanks a lot idk what i will do because when the subs barely hit the amp cuts out for like 5 seconds so i asked VK ( the place i bought my subs and amp ) and they said " well your not grounded good enough"
Do you have, or can you borrow an ohm meter? Find the place you want to ground, sand it, put the ohm meter to it. If it reads 0 or very close, then its a good ground. What size power and ground wires you using? They should be the same AWG size. Also if amp is cutting out it may be a ohm wiring issue to the amp. What subs (voice coils config) and amp are you using?
yeah i can get ahold of one. 4 Guage, e1800d monoblock jl amp hooked up to two jl w6v2's and i have another question i have the two subs wired together into the amp could that have any effect on it?
yes that can be it...your voice coil configuration...what you wil have to do is find out the vc's of ur subs and then wire them to whats stable for you amp....lets say ur amp is stable at 2 ohms...wire the subs at a 2 ohm load if possible...catch my drift? you can get these pics that show u how to wire ur subs from rockford fosagates site if im correct
