Well... now that I have my SSD up and running well, my components can't keep up.

I have a 97 Blazer, so im pretty sure I need 6.5's.

I would like to keep them only running off my head unit, and not have to buy a separate amp since my budget is under $250 shipped for all 4.

I am thinking possibly MB's (not positive what model, so if you could help me out there it would be great) or, AA poly mids (although very hard to find) but am open to suggestions.

I listen to mostly rap and hiphop.

Thanks in advance.

Check out CDT. And an HU won't provide anywhere near enough power for most components, they really need an amp.

Forget about the back, rearfill is not ideal in a high end system anyways. Spend your money on a good component set for the front, and an amp for them. It will sound MUCH better.

And yes you are correct on the speaker size.

Also, disconnect the factory 4x6 speakers in your dash if you haven't done so already. The last thing you need is those interfering with a good set of components.

Ok, thanks for the help M.S.

So 1 set of 2, and an amp. And you just recomend taking out the ones in the back, and having nothing there, just components in the front?

Any recomendation on what to get component or amp wise?

Like I said I recommend CDT, I would also recommend Rainbow or Focal but I don't think your budget will allow for something good from those brands.

" And you just recommend taking out the ones in the back, and having nothing there, just components in the front? "

Yes. If you decide later that you really want rear fill, you can just hook the stock speakers up to the HU, since you don't hardly hear the rear speakers anyway.

You will need to choose a set of speakers in order to know how much power you need from an amp. If you are interested, I have an MTX amp that does 50x2 at 4 ohms and 100x2 at 2 ohms, in great condition, that I can sell for $50.

If you end up needing an amp of about that power, just PM me your email if you want it.

I've actually been looking at MB's. From what I hear they good sound, and I would be able to run them off my HU.
Any truth?

I'm not looking for the "the best", just something to let me hear sound over my sub. I don't need the best quality, however it would be nice. Basicly looking for the best I can do for under $250. Be it 2 speakers, 1 amp, or 4 speakers no amp, just looking to get teh most bang for my buck so to speak.

I wouldn't recommend MB quart, they are known for having very harsh highs (metal tweeters do that).

I would talk to alteraudiousa and see what kind of CDTs he has for ~200. Then look for an amp, or buy mine.

I think that would be the best you can do on your budget.
