The pre out on your head unit are fu*ked. Or you have a bad ground. Or you need to adjust the amp settings.

i had a similar problem..i checked all my wires and grounds like 5 times and i was about to return my headunit cuz i thought the preouts were f'ed..then i turned the gain down a TINY bit and the popping stopped, it was the last thing i thought it could be because i had set my gains according to subwoofertools.com..

i had the same problem and so did a friend. his amp was screwed but for me it was just my sub gain on my deck. just turn the gain down a notch and it fixed my problem. were your popping sounds louder than you can usually get your bass and sound almost like a backfire? :P ha cause mine scared the sh*t outta me

your probably over powering your subwoofer...what amp what sub, about the HU i think its fine.
mine used to do that when i put 3 times the rated rms to my sub.....

so lower your gain and see if it still pops at high volumes

The blue/purple wire is my ground, I don't think it is the problem...

Might it be my "No name brand" amp?

My amp is a 1000w amp and I have 2 JL 12w3v2 D4's which run at 300rms 600peak. They are in series so they each are at 8 ohms. The amp's gain is only at 3/8.

haha... funny story... its the stock one from the car... Hyundai does not make it easy to replace the HU. It is impossible to remove.

Is this the reason why its is popping?

by hu u mean head unit/receiver right?

Yeah. But if it's a facoty HU, it's not the problem I was thinking of.

Maybe gains...or amp setting. (HPF or FULL instead of LPF) (X-over)?
