My first box. I had to cut this box in half, so I could put it in my trunk lol. Put the bottom in first, the put the top on and seal/screw it together. In these pics I have not cut the sub circle and I have not carpeted it yet, but Later on I will post pics of when I get it all installed. Built out of 3/4 oak.
*also if anyone can give me any idea on how to connect the two halves of the box together, it would help alot

Plys as in plywood... layers of wood. Unless I am completely going blind, that looks like solid-core plywood with an oak veneer.

^^^ This is generally true but that solid core with veneer is some extremely strong stuff... it will be fine.

To join em, rent, borrow a biscut joiner and glue,

and they have these type of things too, but you need to make slots for em. Use glue and these.

And oak ply, must have been pricey.

Quality ply, like oak, birch, cherry will give a box a richer sound. ppl tend to use mdf because of its afforability.
Quality ply $60 + a sheet
MDF $ 25 a sheet
When is the last time you saw a high end home speaker set up made with mdf speaker cabinets?
