Sunday, March 18, 2007 - 21:34 GMT Well this question has an easy answer: NO Capacitors do not help your charging system, they put more of a load on the alternator. }Hook up the system and see if your voltage drops. If it does, an HO alternator is the ONLY fix for it.

Sunday, March 18, 2007 - 21:40 GMT I know that everyone hates caps but if my charging system is upgraded then what would it do to benefit my system?

Sunday, March 18, 2007 - 21:48 GMT If and only if you have an adequate charging system, some people claim that a capacitor will make your alternator last longer because it smooths out the current demand. However most people (including myself) believe that's a bunch of BS since it's never been proven.

Sunday, March 18, 2007 - 23:33 GMT Ya, but I don't, so I'm not going to get one. I will probably upgrade my charging system if the voltage drops and my lights dim and what not when I hook up the new system.

Sunday, March 18, 2007 - 23:44 GMT benifits of a charging system u ask? -Can increase db level because ur voltage wont drop or wont drop as much. -MUCH less chance of ur amps clipping cause they get the current they need. -Possibly upgrade setups in the future w/o worrying bout power demands. and as for the cap...no just dont get it
