The can handle ~500w per sub (12's) daily and sound very smooth. Try the 12's in ~2cuft tuned to ~35hz. BTW...i did 144.2dB w/ 2 of them on an Autotek mm1000d. |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 229 Registered: Mar-06 | O really! One of those will be A LOT better than a RF Punch S2! |

Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 230 Registered: Mar-06 | Yea which ones are better? Octane R. Octane ZR? I'm guessing the ZR. |
Silver Member Username: StevefrenchPost Number: 112 Registered: Jan-07 | bump...sorry to steal but how does the octane-r compared to a type-r? |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 231 Registered: Mar-06 | Im still wondering: Yea which ones are better? Octane R. Octane ZR? I'm guessing the ZR. |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3IF U HEAR ME... I GOT KING K... Post Number: 4167 Registered: Feb-06 | the octane r are pretty close to the type r but the octanes zr have much better sq... the zr are much better than the regulars |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 232 Registered: Mar-06 | This is straigth from PG website: OCTANE-R 12/12d ---------------------------- 12: 12 inch 4 ohm subwoofer 12d: 12 inch 8/2 ohm subwoofer Sensitivity: 91dB (1W/1M) 250/500W (RMS/PEAK) 500 PEAK is RMS right and not peak PEAK? I'm thinking about getting this one, what you think? So it goes 1. Octane ZR 2. Octane R 3. RSd |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3IF U HEAR ME... crazydbs.com Post Number: 4177 Registered: Feb-06 | get the zr.... it will be yoru best choice... the zr are the same as the rsd but cooller cone and wrap aroudn magnet rubber.... octane r the rms its 250 the peak watts are 500 but it will take 300 easily rms. the zr will take up to 450 rms even that its 300 rms . |
Gold Member Username: SouthernrebelMonroe, Louisiana DD 9515d~~]... Post Number: 4665 Registered: Mar-04 | The octanes and the RSd's are not the same subs. The RSd's (radials) will take 500wrms all day long. We have sold ALOT of them at our shop and only had 1 come back. We ran 2 Radial 12's on an autotek mm1000.1d for a few weeks w/ no problem. We also did an install w/ the PG1200.1 and 2 RSd 12's...they cant quite handle all of the power, but the box is alil too big and tuned too high for the subs. (The guy already had a box, we just dropped the subs in it) If they were in ~2cuft tuned to 38-34hz, they would handle it no problem. |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 233 Registered: Mar-06 | Thanks,,,,kinda confused,,,Octane R's are the same as the RSd's???? I see that the ZR's are better, I just want a PG 12" sub 4 ohm FINAL and that can take 400wRMS. So when they say 500 peak thats REALLY the PEAK, or do they mean they can take 250 all the way up to 500wRMS? |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 234 Registered: Mar-06 | Oh and the stuff Canaan said, RSd's, where do they line up, I thought it was 1. Octane ZR 2. Octane R 3. RSd's |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3IF U HEAR ME... crazydbs.com Post Number: 4181 Registered: Feb-06 | na its octane zr rsd and regular octane r and caanan i have both subs and when i remove the rubber the motor its the same as the radial..... but u can see kind o fbeefier coil... and a diferent basket but its the same motor.... and octane zr willt ake 500 rms all day... really good subs super efficient im gonan do 400 rms to each sub... |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 235 Registered: Mar-06 | OOhhh Ok! Sorry for all the mix up, I took a look into other sites that had these, 250/500 means 250wRMS. So one OCTANE-ZR 12" will sound better then one RSd 12"?! Thanks |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3IF U HEAR ME... crazydbs.com Post Number: 4182 Registered: Feb-06 | pretty much the same dude... but octane zr are cheaper and ull get same results with a better looking cone... |
Silver Member Username: Dub_cPost Number: 236 Registered: Mar-06 | Alright then,,,thank you thank you! I'm goin with the ZR, like you said better lookin! |
