lol, yea that's my son's Magna-Doodle! Good eye Reece, I figured you couldn't tell from the pics, I'm just saying, is there something I should look for?
The second pic clearly shows the discoloration of the Fet clips, WOW it ain't gonna be cheap. It is like a chain reaction, once one or more goes you need to replace them all. Sure you can get away with just replacing the bad ones but how long will it last. They recommend to change them all keeping the same lot #'s for output matching and reliability. Polo..
Ummm, they aren't cheap! Also chances are if the output fets went then they took the power supply fets with it, chain reaction baby! My last repair for a PG X1200.1 was close to $225 plus my labor which was a pain in the @ss. I did it myself and if a tech was to do it, prepair for an @ss f*cking... Just remember a lot of techs will only replace what is bad, I guess I would want them to but if you understand how amps and matched components work you would quickly change your mind... Polo.. ;)
Is that cap bulged on the top? Or is it just reflection?. If your handi with a DMM and a soldering iron, it cn be fixed. You need to unsolder the mofits and test the gates. replace any bad ones with the same part number or cross refrence. Many manufacturys will not disclose or sell repair parts, so you may have to scrounge from other broken amps or internet, old tvs, radios, whatever makes it work.

Nah Marc, that cap isn't bulged...The mosfets in the top left corner are the ones that have burned out. And yea, I'm fairly decent at soldering. You mean, that an old radio may have fets in it that may be compatible?
