first off that amp doesnt match the subs well. They are DVC so you'll get 1ohm or 4ohm. Amp isnt 1ohm stable, so at 4 you may get like 400rms, way underpowering the subs. besides that its prolly jus junk.

?

12" CompVR CVR124 Dual 4 Ohms (400wattsRMS each)
400 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

Right...when you wire the subs, they would be wired down to 4 ohms, so you'll only be getting 400RMS out of that amp (200 to each sub)

I must have read it wrong then, I thought x 1 meant per sub.

So what should I look for really in an amp to match these things?

No...that just means it is mono amp (one channel). Not a problem, but just know it will be half that power to each sub. Hope that helps

Well if you already have the subs, then you need to look for an amp that pushes out around 800 RMS at either 1 ohm or 4 ohm. If you don't have the subs yet and you want CVRs, get dual 2 ohm 12"s. That way, you can buy an amp that pushes 800 RMS at 2 ohms (this will be easier and cheaper to find)

If you would like the CVRs, then that is the right link for the subs. However, I would not recommend the Boss amp, I think it would work, but you could definately do better. How much are you looking to spend on the amp? I will try to help you out. Also, you comfortable with buying on ebay?

I dont bid on ebay, only buy it now. And as of right now I dont have a job, so I need to get on that. I dont want to spend ALL my money, cuz im a first year driver (you know how that under-aged insurance is) so I need to put away some money for that aswell. Whats wrong with the boss amp? and by do better do you mean by sound quality? I dont really wanna spend more than $700

Yep...I'm 19-know what you mean. If you are fairly new in car audio, the Boss may be fine. It's just not the best build quality, sound quality, and it is probably over rated (not pumping out 800 RMS like it claims). Give me a little bit of time and I will look around and see if I can find something you may like better.

I would suggest looking at this Hifonics amp. If you went with this, you would want to buy the dual 4 ohm subs because this amp is 1 ohm stable.

I would also suggest looking at this Phoenix Gold amp. If you bought this amp, you would buy the dual 2 ohm subs, because this is 2 ohm stable.

I'll be back in like 45 minutes to answer anything else you need (I gotta go get some food.) Let me know if these are out of your price range or anything like that.

Well neither are really over my price range. I guess I could just build my own box, or maybe just buy a cheap one for that matter. I'd probly go with the phoenix amp and the dual 2ohm subs.

im also an underage driver and i spend a lot of my summer job money on a sub. when i got it, it was louder then most of my friends but i still wanted something louder so now after having it for 3 month im selling it and getting something louder. but still im loosing money on it so make sure when you buy something it is what you want. the 400 rms a peace isnt all that much. mabey it would be fine for you but idk. also im not a big fan of kicker.

look at these. there are a little less power but audioque is a good company
http://www.audioque.com/aq/SD2_Series.htm
you can get this for about 110 plus 20 for shipping

You would be fine with 4-guage. If you have ANY thought of upgrading, you may want to consider 1/0 gauge though. It's not fun or very economical to have to buy and install new wire a year down the road because you want to upgrade. Just my thoughts...

What, upgrade from the two kickers?

Well, yes and no. Theoretically, it has nothing to do with the subs, just how many watts you are pushing with your amps. (But of course your not going to upgrade your amp and keep the CVR, so yeah). If you think you may want more powerful amps and subs later, you may as well go with 1/0. I think you can go about 1000 RMS on 4-guage, but I am not possitive about that (guys correct me if I'm wrong).
