Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 113 Registered: Dec-06 | I tried posting in the other section, but no one is ever on . Anyway, for $250-400 max, what would be the best 6.5" components? I would purchase an amp based on whatever speakers I get. Thanks for the help. |

Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 116 Registered: Dec-06 | lol ok. Any other opinions? |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 117 Registered: Dec-06 | How are MB Quart? |
Silver Member Username: Livin_loud18 of Love Fi Audio Post Number: 873 Registered: Jan-06 | eh, ever since maxxsonics bought them, product quality just isn't the same... |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 118 Registered: Dec-06 | OK...so I'll avoid them. If I get the Jeep I want, there are 6.5s in the rear doors too. I have heard many opinions that say either leave them stock or disconnect them completely. Agree??? |
Silver Member Username: Livin_loud18 of Love Fi Audio Post Number: 874 Registered: Jan-06 | in the back hatch? yeah, theres no point there really. if you don't care about passengers, the front stage is all you need to worry about... |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 119 Registered: Dec-06 | Sorry...not the back hatch. It would be a Grand Cherokee so the back two doors. I could put coaxial speakers there, or a midbass like the Kicker SSMB6. Any point? |
Silver Member Username: Livin_loud18 of Love Fi Audio Post Number: 875 Registered: Jan-06 | oh sorry i misread that. well people say that the rear doesn't matter, but i have 6x9's on my rear deck and i can tell the difference. the doors in your jeep are closer compared to in a car's rear, so i'd say to get something to replace the stock... |

They are priced very low and perform great...nice rich, smooth sound...not harsh at all. I am getting some to replace my old @$$ Infinity Refs. |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3250 Registered: Feb-06 | holy shyt its tru that there are some phoenic gold xenon 6.5 out there i knew that the 6.5 size was sold out damn i need to get those. yeah those are the ones im talkin about they sounds amazing dont thinkg because they cost cheaper they mean its cr@p they are really great if you get them ull thank me because phoenix gold its all about soundquiality and the croosovers has the two crossovers built in one housing and the midbass its superb not much bass but the mid end its fenomenal the highs are really crisp and clears they dont harsh . |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3251 Registered: Feb-06 | the rsd components are the same as the octane zrated only with new comsmetics but same motor same cone basket tweeter and internal crossovers. |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3252 Registered: Feb-06 | u can get the 5.25 size of those xenons for about 90 bucks and the size 6.5 its hard to find on that model |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 121 Registered: Dec-06 | OK...thanks! The bass really doesn't matter...thats what the subs are for |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3253 Registered: Feb-06 | and yeah call me Mr.Rob |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3254 Registered: Feb-06 | ok heres wat im gonna recomend you: get 1 5.5 phoenix gold octane xenon 5.5 about 90bucks on ebay 1 6.5 phoenix gold octane r z rated (important dont get the regular octanes witout the z rated because if so ull get some inline croossovers that are only for the tweeters and mylar tweeters if you get the zrated ull get the crossovers with silk tweeters. ull spen about 60 bucks on the octanes r z rated. finally get this amp about 180 on ebay. phoenix gold octane r 8.0:4 its 75rmsx4 ohms rms i think including shippin ull be spending about 360 for both components and amplifier. your best choice |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3255 Registered: Feb-06 | yeah u will not get any bass for the midbass because the crossover will filter out around 85hz and lower notes. phoenix gold xenon for your front doors. phoenix gold octane r z rated for backdoors. |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 122 Registered: Dec-06 | Very good...thank you! I appreciate it! |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 123 Registered: Dec-06 | Sorry two more things...isn't that amp 125x4RMS at 4ohm? Also, the amp is hooked up and then the speaker wire is run to the speakers correct? It is routed away from the HU? |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3257 Registered: Feb-06 | its peak 125 rms x4 peak 75 rms |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3258 Registered: Feb-06 | oh and it is 125 rms but at 2 ohm i have that amp and i luv it |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 124 Registered: Dec-06 | I see. What would you think about the Kicker KX350.4? Its a little cheaper and it would match the mono amp I wanna get |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3259 Registered: Feb-06 | sucks cant match phoenix gold quility they will get louder but not sound right because of thd ratings |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 125 Registered: Dec-06 | OK...Well I will avoid it then. Matching isn't important, just thought it looked good. Everyone is so high on the Kicker monos, so I just assumed the 4 channel would be good as well. |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Sit and Look pretty Post Number: 3261 Registered: Feb-06 | kicker aint that great juzz because they add some extra power they great but for my opinion they aint that great let us now about your set up and take pics i have my phoenix gold *8.0:4 but i got it for 220shipped now u can have it cheaper so i think im gonna get another one and add some more components in the kicks. |
Silver Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 126 Registered: Dec-06 | I see. Well, I have until this summer to decide, cuz I am in school and am broke at this point. I am getting a new truck and all sorts of audio $h!t but wanted to start planning. Thanks for all the help! |
