Post Number: 2095 Registered: Nov-05 | i have polk mmc6500 components. they have an option to biwire. on the crossovers they have 2 + and 2 - inputs. now is all i need to do is split my + lead into two and put one lead to each positive, and then do the same for the negative leads?? will it mess up the ohms? |

Post Number: 2098 Registered: Nov-05 | http://www.brilliancehifi.co.uk/how-to-bi-wire-speakers.htm ^^ this is for homeaudio speakers... for home audio speakers do i also bi wire by running 4channels to 2 speakers????? i have a 4 channel reciever, and two speakers that they reccomend i bi wire, do i run 2 channels to each speaker??? |
Gold Member Username: BestmankindWww.15inchwangers.com Post Number: 9449 Registered: Oct-05 | ohhhhhh nvm then. what you want to do is starting from the receiver speaker output, you would split it. use a thinner wire for the tweeter and thicker for the woofer. you can also run a cable to the woofer. then get a shorter cable and go from the woofer to the tweeter. |

Gold Member Username: BestmankindWww.15inchwangers.com Post Number: 9451 Registered: Oct-05 | ok now are we talking about the car components? if you are, amping the mid and tweeter separately gives you more control. if you set it right, it can sound much better. |

Post Number: 2102 Registered: Nov-05 | okay..... and now going to home audio.... i have a 4 channel amp but two speakers,,, speakers are 100 rms each, amp is 40 per channel should i bi-amp (run 2 channels per speaker) bc the speaker has 4 terminals, its made for bi ampin |

Post Number: 1067 Registered: Mar-06 | didnt read all of this thread..but ussualy when your crossover has 2 sets of inputs its so you can connect different amps or channels to each speaker, tweeter and midrange. there is ussualy a switch on the crossover so you can select parallel or bi-amp. When it is in paralel mode you just need to connect either input... |
