Square or round ports?

should i use square or round ports on a ported sub box

no space restrictions. i like the round ones better i was jsut wondering if there is any sound differances or anything like that

I think area and depth are more important than shape for ports... however personally I'd stick with round...

Round ports produce a wider variety of frequencies than say a square or rectangle. You also have to take into account that if you go with a slot or square port depending on tuning it will have a turn in it. Turns in a port hurt flow and cause turbulance this limits spl. I personally would go with aeroports, less length/room required for the same tune, less turbulance and port noise plus ease of tuning... JMHO, Polo. :-)

I agree with Polo, go with round ports. If you can, do flanged ports. Aero ports are flanged at both ends I believe. This reduces turbulance.
