Silver Member Username: JohnfiacIL Afghanistan,... Post Number: 966 Registered: Mar-06 | My question is How deep\wide would my ports have to be for these tuning options. All MUST have a port Hieght of 10" (port will be made with 1" Oak.) Im looking for 30hz, 35hz and 40hz. The width of the port hole can be as much as 14" wide.... the picture shows all details... basically this is for replacable ports for different tuning options...Thankz for the idea marshall |

Kinda hard to explain unless i could sit down w/ ya and draw it out. VVVVV (this is if you use 3/4" mdf) VVVV But, to tune that box to 35hz....do a 7"x10" opening port 27" long (it will have to make an L in the box). Make sure the hole in the box will be large enough. The port will displace 1.52cuft, the sub is ~.25cuft. You will have 4.55cuft net. For 40hz, 7.5"x10" port.....18" long (L port again) 4.95cuft. Play around w/ this calculator: http://www.bcae1.com/spboxnew2.htm you will have to take into account the displacments of the wood the port is made of. |
