| I was having a problem where I could not lock my doors because my key would not shut off the alarm. However sometimes when I jumped in it, it would act as if the alarm was tripped and it disabled the starter. One day I could not get it started, so I searched the web and found out that if the Theft Deterrent System has locked out your starter, you can open the hood and locate the Dome light fuse, once you take this out you can start your car. Worked for me, but of course now I have no dome light, Alarm, or Radio. So I decided to investigate why my key would not shut it off, and I have found the fix, rather than disabling the alarm.
