Silver Member Username: Dmm2005DD Audio ORION, Warren Count... USA Post Number: 397 Registered: Aug-06 | Hey go to www.rdaudio.net and email them they are looking to take on sponsors. I just got on as a sponsor and you can get up to 50% off of their prices. Im considering getting two 15s from them that are 1000 rms/4000 for burps which will run me 440+shipping. The only thing that worries me is the new Fi line that is coming out wont be much more than that without sponsorship and I dont know which will be better since RD doesnt have a reputation. Also their logo looks like something to be for sale at wally world... |

We custom build all of the Heavy Weight series to your spec to unsure maximum power from your amplifiers." I don't know about you guys, but I'd like it better if I was SURE or it was ENSURED that it was maximum power... |
Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1884 Registered: Aug-05 | I think it's pretty official though...ANYONE can start a car audio company... RE, Fi, DD, AA, Treo, Adire, now RD, I mean come on...Why don't they all just merge and make the ultimate line of subs, amps, and components... They'd make money because they'd completely destroy other brands...And everyone would slowly come over to the dark side . |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinResonant Engineering..., Fort Worth... Email Post Number: 2607 Registered: Nov-05 | .. if everyone merged then they could put whatever price they want on their equipment. it would be an audio equip monopoly and then there would not be much point in competing because everyone would have the same stuff. not to mention without competition the prices would inflate too much |
Gold Member Username: TdbdadrummerWellsburg, WV USA Post Number: 1885 Registered: Aug-05 | True, true... I dunno, there's just too many choices to make on what to buy lol, and then I always think I made the wrong one, i.e. when the Fi line came out and I had just gotten my Assassins only months before...Kinda rubbed me the wrong way, because I would have rather spent some extra money on the Fi's... |

Platinum Member Username: RovinNew sub : 1 ... Post Number: 10376 Registered: Jul-05 | im sure alot of u have noticed that MOST of these same companies use the exact same frames but they do have their own backplate/magnets & soft parts whoever came up with the frame design is probably rolling around in $ if its patented .... |
Silver Member Username: RenegadesrunLafayette, IN US Post Number: 539 Registered: Oct-04 | Sponsorship....fancy way of saying, "at cost or close too." Very little in this world is free. If this kinda deal turns you guys on you should have let me know alot sooner. Id sponsor the whole damn forums worth of ppl and only charge 60 more than i pay, for w/e, and you could be on the SPLBassX team. You'd like the windshield banners. ;) |
Gold Member Username: SouthernrebelMonroe, Louisiana DD 9515d~~]... Post Number: 4013 Registered: Mar-04 | From RD's site: "This massive SPL woofer can handle 25,000 watts in SPL 3 second burps. This is a very efficient SPL woofer. We custom build all of the Heavy Weight series to your spec to unsure maximum power from your amplifiers." From Atomic's site: "The APX and APXX series are the loudest expression of Atomic Loudspeakers. APX and APXX incorporate the most advance technologies and American-engineering refinements. They can handle up to 25,000 watts in short competition-style bursts. When you need that extra db, we have the answer." durr....ahhh...do-k. From the looks of the back and top-plates, discriptions of the subs, and amps...looks like this RD stuff may be from the same build house. But atomic's address is for CA...RD's is for GA. RD's amps: rd5000.1 rd2200.1 rd800.1 Atomic amps: 5000.1 2200.1 1800.1 1500.1 800.1 500.1 All the amps have the same (or dam near the same) specs and measurements....the 2200's are just in a lil different case. (the cases they use is are 'stock' cases, same w/ the 12-spoke baskets...ALOT of audio manufacturers use them) Interesting none-the-least. |

Silver Member Username: Dmm2005DD Audio ORION, Warren Count... USA Post Number: 412 Registered: Aug-06 | this is what he wrote me im not sure about the 2200 driving... We have a 5000.1d that puts out 5000 rms @ 14.4 and will do 7500 @ 18 volts this amp is a beast and would be over kill for every day use but would get you very good results at shows. If you get the woofers installed and decide it just isnt enough power to compete we have 3000.1d comming avialable in 60 days. But the 5000.1d is 2099.00 retail and 1050.00 for comp. discount. The 3000.1d will be 1500.00 retail and 700 comp discount. We rate all our product conservitive. |
