marshall.. your ports are nice but the blow right into the pipe is not rolled much. are you using a mold?

if not .. grab your router and make a wood mold for a bunch of flares.. then you could go into business hehe

My next box is gonna be using flares. Maybe hit up canaan for them. Next box will be an SPL box for 2 18" BTL subs.

i have a question.

i have noticed on my way home that when i play a real low bass the flared end on the inside is hitting the side wall of my box. i guess thats what i get for putting it so close.

anyways should i put a strip of edead on the part where the flared ends might be hitting? or should i wrap the ports with a single layer of edead?

You don't brace aeroports. They naturally fibrate, shake, resonate. You can trim the ends a little if need be. The picture of the above port has sharp internal edges, it will be open for port turbulance. Get a big can of bondo, mix a big lump of it, take a REAL aero port flare, spray the inside with Pam cooking spray, lightly or use fiberglass releasing agent from AutoZone. Take the lump of bond and pack it in or press the flare into the bondo just as long as you get a good pack inside. Let the bondo cure then tap the plug out from the inside, gently as not to crack it. Once you have the plug fill/sand any high, fill any low spots and gently radius the top edge so you will smoothly be able to insert hot pvc over the top. Polo.. :-)
