I am pretty sure I can get a nice 1000/1 and a 13w7 all for under $1,000 if I shop around but is that one subwoofer enough or do you need two? I was thinking if I can't find a nice 1000/1 I could go with a 500/1 and a 10w7. I am not looking for too much power but definitely would like to have it incase I need it once in a while.
I am definitely about quality so if someone has some good suggestions about a setup even if it breaks $1,000 I'd be more than grateful. Must be JL.
i like they way both sound in person, but the W6 is weak in the low end end. if your straight SQ go for the W6, and if you just wanna sound good and are not lookin to compete or anything W6 will be plenty of bass.
jacob i love jl but seriously, if you're doing a 1 sub setup for 1k you can get almost the same SQ, more output with less money. I'd try a Fi Q and a 1000-1500w rms amp such as kicker kx 1200.1
Personally my W6 12" gets low. And it sounds great doing it. In reality how often do you drive around with your subs slamming. Not all the time. But low to mid volume the bass is solid. and when you twist it, it riveled my L7. So like ^^^ said. if you want to be noticed W7. If you want to be admired, W6
Someone once suggested off ecoustics to mix it up a little. I don't deny kicker they are a good brand but their prices vary so much accross markets it's rediculous. JL is able to hold their prices relatively well regardless of where you buy them, which is a good sign. What would in your opinion go good with a 1000/1 amp?
