An amp will only allow down to a certain ohm resistence. If you have too low of a resistence, the amp may be damaged. Your best bet is to wire them in series at 6 ohms. All car amps will allow a 6 ohm load. Your second best choice is to wire them in series/parallel. You will need an amp that is 1/2 ohm stable. This amp will cost more than your #1 choice above, since it is a more rugged amp. I am not sure if you can even find an amp that will allow you to wire 3 dvc 1 ohm subs in parallel since that will total .167 ohms. I have heard of 1/4 (.25) ohm stable amps, but not below that. |
