I got 2 Kicker L7 15" 4 ohm subs and i am looking for an amp that would match correctly with it. I ran upon the hifonics amp for $260 which is: 1 x 2000 Watts @ 1 Ohms 1 x 1300 Watts @ 2 Ohms Super D-Class Amplifier Topography High End Performance Amplifier Mono 1 ohm Mode Ultra-Fi Mosfet Outputs
Is this a reputable amp and will it be a good match for my subs?
They're relatively accurately rated. The most recent benchtest I saw on a bx2005 was 1802w at 14.4v. I'm no math major, but I'm gonna say that's right about 90% of rated power.
And FWIW - even if it DID do 2000w there would be no audible difference whatsoever. Maybe a couple tenths of a dB.
