Gold Member Username: Logan__tilleOrion 1200D For Sale, Hit me up Post Number: 4118 Registered: Feb-06 | should make the tuning go down... |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 922 Registered: Nov-04 | ok thats what i thought just wanted to make sure. i dont want it to go higher really. |
Silver Member Username: Andrew571Stillwater/Edmond, Oklahoma USA Post Number: 537 Registered: Oct-05 | wait, what r those hole things spaced out above the port? r those screws or something? that wouldn't make sense though because front peice is sitting on top of the port piece? i dunno, maybe its something else, i was just confused looking @ it |
Gold Member Username: WingmanaliveNj US Post Number: 2466 Registered: Jun-06 | I think you're seeing a line drawn on the front, instead of a seam. |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 923 Registered: Nov-04 | yea those are screws. the port is setting behind that front piece to give me the 5" Wide port which reminds me i need to take off 3/4' of that port to make the port 19" long right now its 19 3/4. wonder what that would bring my tunning 2? |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 924 Registered: Nov-04 | i think the router effect where i rounded the edges makes it look like you can see the board but you really cant. |
Silver Member Username: Andrew571Stillwater/Edmond, Oklahoma USA Post Number: 538 Registered: Oct-05 | ROFL im dumb, i thought that line was a seam.... wow i wondered why you would do it like that... wow lol my bad |

Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 927 Registered: Nov-04 | yea cause of now im classifed as a wall cause it comes above the window line. All i wanna do it just get meterd to see how loud it is. |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 2611 Registered: Jan-06 | yeah thats what i was saying. but get some good power the them and you could still do good in that class with some work. any ideas on what amps and other equip. your adding? |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 928 Registered: Nov-04 | gonna run 1 massive audio p3000.1 to each sub. Focal Componets with a p400.4. 1 HC1800 under the hood and 1HC2400 in the rear. 2 runs of 0ga from the front to the rear batterys. When installing a volt gauge where do i hook it to? |

Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 2613 Registered: Jan-06 | well just to keep in mind those amps put out there power at 14.4v and really that is a small alt. to run6000rms. that should draw about 576amps max. so really dual alt set up is the way to go. also id reccommend more battery because kinetiks are rated by numbers and those numbers are how many rms you should run on them. like the hc2400=2400rms anyway just keep that stuff in mind |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 932 Registered: Nov-04 | how will my port being 19.75 affect my tunning from 33hz at 19" |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodian Post Number: 1606 Registered: Sep-04 | I would get atleast a 260amp alt, with two hc2400's in the back, and then a smaller kinetik in the front. But first just try it how you planned it out then add another batt if necessary. |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 934 Registered: Nov-04 | ok i will keep that in mind. thx |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 935 Registered: Nov-04 | yea 260 amp alt with 1 HC1800 up front and 1 HC2400 in the rear to see how that does. Im aware they make the rated power at 14.4v |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 936 Registered: Nov-04 | port being longer tunning up or down? |

Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 938 Registered: Nov-04 | where should i do my bracing? |
Gold Member Username: BestmankindFi Audio BTL Post Number: 8577 Registered: Oct-05 | longer port makes the tuning lower. nice pics. very good craftsmanship. round the corners. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinResonant Engineering..., Fort Worth... Email Post Number: 2352 Registered: Nov-05 | you can cut 2inch strips and put them along the box .. midway for bracing. that is probably the nicest bracing I'd seen in a while basically making a ring along the middle of the box with a small strip of MDF |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 939 Registered: Nov-04 | Im gonna take it back apart 2morrow and round the corner on the port at the end. Will adding resin to the corners make a diff. Im gonna coat the inside with resin to help stiffen and seal it up some. I wanna add some bracing but i just dont know where to add it effectivly. |
Gold Member Username: BestmankindFi Audio BTL Post Number: 8579 Registered: Oct-05 | resin helps. i love my new box. it pounds hard. i love it so much i can't stand it. lol. |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 940 Registered: Nov-04 | ok i may try to 90 all the corners i can with resin then |
Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodian Post Number: 1608 Registered: Sep-04 | Yeah, resin definately helps. If it was me, I would resin that board you have for the port, and resin at 90 degree angles there before closing the box. I would do a lot of 90degree resining :D |
Gold Member Username: BestmankindFi Audio BTL Post Number: 8581 Registered: Oct-05 | yeah. what i did was i tilted the box on one side and poured the resin on there. there are other ways of doing that but i am just telling you how i did mine. once you start using resin, the cost of money spent on that box is gonna be more than $200. |
Silver Member Username: Mr_keboAlbertville, Al USA Post Number: 941 Registered: Nov-04 | yea im gonna go crazy :D. Ive never used resin. do i need a hardner to mix it with or will it harden itself? |
Gold Member Username: BestmankindFi Audio BTL Post Number: 8583 Registered: Oct-05 | you need to buy the hardner separately. it only comes with a little bit. it will not get hard without the hardner. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinResonant Engineering..., Fort Worth... Email Post Number: 2353 Registered: Nov-05 | it comes with hardener to mix.. resin is easy.. just paint it on lol. wear glvoes though.. it can get messy |

Gold Member Username: BernymacCambodian Post Number: 1610 Registered: Sep-04 | I actually use the hardener that came with the resin and it was enough. I used bondo resin btw. but I guess you can just buy extra hardener if you want, and if your going to brush on the resin, get acetone for your brushes. |
