crap. where are you looking at for buying stuff, wal-mart? and it looks like it would be easier to just make one thread for all the stuff you want opions on instead of a million (cause so far all the brands fall into one catagory). heres a start: volf's dual pyramid audiobahn sony lanzar spl pyle legacy lightning audio
and here's a tip, if you can buy it at wal-mart/target/kmart then it's no good. i will admit SOMETIMES if your lucky you will find a good pioneer hu at wal-mart, but other than that forget it.
i buy at a place called street waves try audio shops they normaly have good stuff except this one place here trying 2 push power bass which isnt verry good
I bought 4 entry level lightning audio 12's from a walmart last year for $29.99 apiece. Even tho they're rated 150 rms, 4 of em shakes buildings. I don't buy at any car audio stores, every single one in Reno is a ripoff. Ebay or forums usually.
...Whoever said lightning audio is a crap brand is tripping...
Lightning is old fosgate refurbished with different stickers. Sure if you get something entry level of most brands it's going to be crap next to something decent, but they make god subs when rated upwards of 500w rms. My strike's hit as hard as my old rockfords, harder than my Jl 12' w3's and my alpine's 12's. Especially for the price, they're damn decent.
i still think there trash. so they might be louder than a w3, so what. a w3 is a sq sub. guarantee the jl's sound a hell of a lot better, have better build quality by far, and will probably outlast those lightnings'.
Hey now...Volfenhag AREN'T sold at Wal-Mart, so let's give them the respect they deserve...At least mark it up with the crap sold at Best Buy and Circuit City .
I say that because I owned a pair of their 12's...Not horrible, but I was happy to get my Assassins, so we'll leave it at that. And also happy that when I go to one of those chain electronics stores, that my system can outperform anything in their store.
I've had the strikes for going on 2 years. They're going strong and they sound great. They beat the shi out of the jls in every respect, especially considering I dropped $300 on the w3's new and $140 on the lightnings, new. Some audio n azis hate to admit that anything that goes for less than a grand can sound good, but whatever. Each his own...
That's weird, since when I bought my Assassins, I got them for $75 a pop...I dropped $150 into them, they sound great, and are most likely a lot louder than most stuff produced by Lightning.
But I don't want to argue, so I'll stop talking now .
