Nice progress Chad. I do see a chance of flex myself, especially on the side the aeros are on. Maybe should have spaced them a little further apart? 150db here we come!
i couldn't space them any further apart. those things flare out to 6 inches.
i have about 8 inches betweent the side of my car and the side of my box. maybe little less. if it don't work out i can always build another box. i love building boxes. lol.
hey guys i just applied the first coat of resin. should i have left the garage door opened when i was doing that. i feel kinda dizzy right now.
lmao, don't tell me you didn't get a respirator! LMAO! So how did you apply the resin? did you brush it on, pour it in, lay in fiberglass matt, then brush resin over it. or what? just wondering =).
nicely done chad, nicely done indeed. as for my progress, I just got finish running my rca wires from HU to back, just in case you wanted to be informed =).
Andrizzle, atleast its something :D. Better than nothing. Plus my friend at work wants to learn how to install audio equipment and it was helpful to have his little hands do the dirty work. My hands are to big to get into little spots. Well it was pretty fun though. More progress tomarrow or so.
Excuse me Mr slob my knob Rob, I am straight ghetto, grew u on the south side of Chicago. In November I go to the lagoons byt 63rd & Stony to snag fish so don't give me that sh!t you little PSSY. Just because I can read and write doesn't mean I cannot be ghetto. If you reread what i typed there was nothing ghetto about the question that was typed. In fact your problem is that until I typed it out you had no idea what the Fck a Trapazoid was, I won't be the one to explain it to you, MORON. STFU....Polo.
i had to make it trapazoid so it will fit perfectly in my car. it may look sharp on the outside but i rounded that corner with resin. just pour it in there and let it sit.
get bubble gum resin next time bro... that smell last forever, even when u decide to sand it smooth 4years from now.
but yea, i love the smell of resin, doesnt even phase me.. lol also got to love that paint mixing smell...
hey I would diffently matt the sides of the boxes with fiberglass matt, then soak them with resin, and smooth everything down glass slick with a sander, the entire inside of the box! that resin should be slicker than glass then!
box looks good, but u need to make it stronger, I would put about another 2gallons of resin in there!
if u hit your score and decide to keep the box, I would also resin the outside, sand it smooth, clean, paint it your factory black color of your car code, and shoot some clear coat on that b!tch! then that will be a pretty MF box!!
Hey Chad there is another trick to getting rid of the corners. Use Great Stuff, yes you heard me the expanding foam. Take the supplied tube go downt he center line of the cranck until the corner is full. The use a putty knife to give shape, I prefer flat that stuff can be sanded and filled, even resin over it. The key here is to use it as a filler, costs less, weighs less and absorbs sound waves due to its porous nature. This stuff also bonds to just about anything and can be removed later if you wish. Polo.
very nice idea. i am gonna do that on my next box. that is if i don't hit 150db with this one, i am building another one. i am gonna do that to all the corners of the box with that foam stuff. after foaming the corners, i can just brush some resin over it to make it even smoother.
unfortuanately i put the top on already so i can't do that to the box right now. also i made a littel mistake of putting the sub cutout too close to the edge so i really can't get rid of the corner near there.
to get rid of the sharp corner, i stood the box up on that coner and poured alot of resin on it and let it sit.
