I've got 2 15" memphis dvc subs hoocked to a sony explode 1200 watt 1 channel amp.the subs are not wired together.They are wired paralell.+ to +,and - to - on the sub,and normally from the sub to amp.It sounds great,but the amp kicks into protection when i cut the stereo up.how should i wire these subs

are they DVC 4 or 2 ohm subs

im not sure but,i believe they are dvc 4 ohm

oh yea the amp is very strong,which for sony i was surprised.why do you suggest getting rid of it?

why get rid of the amp?it is very strong which for sony i was surprised.how can i wire these subs to prevent this from happening.when it comes to dvc im confused.

you have to run it at 4 ohms, see www.the12volt.com under woofer wiring, you have to run it at 4 ohm and then not enough power, you need a 1 ohm stable amp...

you probably have it wired to low, wire it to 4 ohms using that website, also sony equipment is very poor quality

the sony amp is not stable at 1ohm, inwhich it sounds u ahve ur sub wired to...u need to re-wire your subs to 4ohm so your amp can stay stable

not a pro but if you run single vcs parrallel,
if 2 ohm ur gettin 4
if 4 ohm thats bad (smells like burnt plastic kinda.. pos proaudio..lol srry)
dual vcs
all parrallel
if 2 ohms same as single 4
if 4 ohms, bad too
if dual you gotta remember that runnin in series is gonna bring donw the ohm load
runnin parrallel is gonna up the ohm load,
one of these pros might be able to help better but theres my 2 cents... latez and good luck

oh and i just checked that 12volt site, very good, click subwoofer wiring

Dustin, some info for you. Series=higher load.

parallel=lower load.
