What size fuse for my power line?

Bronze Member Username: BassfiendPost Number: 28 Registered: Aug-06 | I have a single 12" Alpine Type X DVC (4ohm+4ohm) and a Hifonics Titan TX-1505d 1000w Mono-Block Amplifier, My alpine is wired at 2ohm and I'm running 1000w rms to it... and a 4 gauge amp kit I just need to know what size fuse to put in the in-line fuse holder that powers my amplifier.. So what size?? Thank you...  |

I would have to say it will probably have 2 60A fuses on it so I would go with 120A-125A. It is safe to go 5A over and still be safe. Some reccamend for a 5A overage to have less unnecessary fuse failures. 60A fuses x 2 = 120A SO Go with 125A |

IF you know anything about fuses you know they can pass 2x their rated current dynamically. SO yeah, 125A will work. 120's fine. 100A will work just fine too, and provide more protection against over-current. Not that it matters, but chances are 80A will probably get it done as well. But by all means - 125A is the way to go since that's the new Sinful Systems "rule".  |
