Gold Member Username: DrsmithMontana USA Post Number: 2056 Registered: Nov-04 | it depends, my HD has good SQ and gets insanely loud on 1200, i would be worried about putting that much power on a mag but the HD could take it no problem |

Bronze Member Username: GrillzCoral Spprings, Florida USA Post Number: 11 Registered: May-06 | yeah...1500w would be a little much for a mag...i was going to keep the gains and head unit eq @ a minimum. although, Lloyd is running two mags and two sundowns @ 1ohm...and he is getting AWESOME results. i think it was mid 150's.... |
Bronze Member Username: GrillzCoral Spprings, Florida USA Post Number: 12 Registered: May-06 | oh, i forgot to mention.... what about Q's ? so 2 HD3 12's 2 MAG 12's 2 FI Q 12's |
Gold Member Username: Logan__tilleRE XXXYeah its 15 ... Post Number: 3100 Registered: Feb-06 | HD3...too much power for the Q. |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86FTW Post Number: 9422 Registered: Aug-05 | apples....or oranges....hmmm? |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 2220 Registered: Jan-06 | i wouldnt put that much power on a mag or a q really although people do it to both of them. hd3 can take it fine so maybe go with them |
Gold Member Username: DrsmithMontana USA Post Number: 2057 Registered: Nov-04 | like muddy set apples and oranges lol SQ and Mag are SQL drivers focusing on SQ mainly the HD3 is an SQL driver that focuses on SPL more if you want louder HD if you want better SQ either of the other 2 but i say Q's cuz of the price difference |
Bronze Member Username: GrillzCoral Spprings, Florida USA Post Number: 13 Registered: May-06 | what if i got two bxi 1206D's. and, i was told, hifonics are underrated so really its about 1000w each i would just wire the sundowns to 2 ohm...which is just over 900w but mags come in only 2ohm....so that is impossible.... is there any possible way i could get the mags is dual 4ohm ? |
Bronze Member Username: GrillzCoral Spprings, Florida USA Post Number: 14 Registered: May-06 | or...you know what... a single 1500 @ .5ohm has been tested and rated @ just over ~1800w that would put the subs @ 900w each.... good? |
Bronze Member Username: GrillzCoral Spprings, Florida USA Post Number: 15 Registered: May-06 | like so... http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard/2_2ohmDVC_05ohm.gif and i will have a h-o alt and two batts.... http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=196989 |

Honestly, I would do the 2 12" Mag's... 1500 would not be too much for them daily seeing as to how Sundown recommends the mag's for their amps. Also... The Mag's have been given 2k-3k watts daily and had no problems. I'd def. go with the Mag. Thanks, Andrew |
Silver Member Username: Th3pwn3rChicago, Illinois U.S.A Post Number: 818 Registered: Jul-06 | ^I would also go with the mag, especially right now considering the low price on them 12''= $325 and 15''=$350, get some mags. |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Im pushing i... And pushing ... Post Number: 2876 Registered: Feb-06 | THE SUNDOWN 1500 WAS MADE FOR THE MAG AND NO OTHER SUB |
Bronze Member Username: GrillzCoral Spprings, Florida USA Post Number: 16 Registered: May-06 | ok.... so i'll get the 2 12" mags and the two sundowns. one to each sub |
Silver Member Username: Th3pwn3rChicago, Illinois U.S.A Post Number: 821 Registered: Jul-06 | Nice choice |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 2226 Registered: Jan-06 | well actually 2 mags were ment to be ran on that sundown |
Silver Member Username: Mvplefty12Pinellas, FLA America Post Number: 373 Registered: Mar-06 | IMO, the single sundown amp will be enough for the 2 Mag's. I just read a review of a guy giving his 2 12" Mag's 300 watts a piece and he says they got loud as fu**. Go with the 2 if you want though.... I personally would save that extra money and put it aside for a later investment. Thanks, Andrew |

You have the same car as me so you can fit the 15". The lows from the XXX will kill you and im not even exaggerating. Thanks, Andrew |
Gold Member Username: DrsmithMontana USA Post Number: 2062 Registered: Nov-04 | no way, new RE is so overpriced |
Silver Member Username: Mvplefty12Pinellas, FLA America Post Number: 376 Registered: Mar-06 | No offense, but you can't really ever overprice any of the XXX subs. They're arguably the best SQL drivers of past, present and possibly future lol. If something gets that low and plays that accurate, its worth every dollar spent on it. I would have one in a heart beat if they didn't go for $850 at a local shop! |
Gold Member Username: CtmikeCt. Post Number: 2658 Registered: Feb-06 | what about the fi q? imo they sound as good if not better than the new '06 xxx and cost around 1/3 the price. |
Silver Member Username: Mvplefty12Pinellas, FLA America Post Number: 377 Registered: Mar-06 | ehhhh, I'm not sold on the Q... I personally would take a Mag over the Q. Oh wait, I did. lol Thanks, Andrew |
Bronze Member Username: Imperial_designsLafayette, Louisiana Post Number: 52 Registered: Oct-06 | if you really want a great SQ driver that has tons of output a single DD 9115 would do perfectly. IMO the XXX is poorly designed. |

Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 2246 Registered: Jan-06 | i would love a dd 9915 over anysub but the price tag is BIG even compared to a mag |
Silver Member Username: SkiesCourtenay, British Colu... Canada Post Number: 375 Registered: Aug-05 | ^^ he said 9115, not 99... i think it comes down to electrical system... if you have a HO alt, or plan on getting one use 2 sundowns with 2 mags... if not, you can take the chance and see if you alt can hold 1 sundown at .5 ohm... if you can, all the power to you, you save money, and have a great sounding system |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 2249 Registered: Jan-06 | I MENT TO SAY 9115!!!!!!!!!!! |
Bronze Member Username: GrillzCoral Spprings, Florida USA Post Number: 17 Registered: May-06 | of course....nobody should run any amp without some kind of electrical upgrade...such as a h-o alt...dual batts...big 3...sometimes a capacitor will help too.... |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86FTW Post Number: 9494 Registered: Aug-05 | hold-up here....lets set some shyte straight. first off Andrew.....you said "i am not sold on the Q"......DOOD!!!! who was they guy that asked a new thread every day about Sub X vs. Sub Y help me help me!! YOU second, the XXX is NOT THE BEST SUB FOR ANYTHING they are power hungry...SERIOUSLY, and for what it's worth, they don't sound as good as the old one, or even as good as the SE or MX. and they become sloppy above ~50hz due to the huge xmax, which goes back to the huge amounts of power needed to reach it. Thanks, Muddy |

Bronze Member Username: Kballa422Lexington, KY USA Post Number: 13 Registered: Nov-06 | I haven't heard either sub, but from doing some research and reading about both (or all 3 for that matter), I dont think you will be disappointed. All will give you what you are looking for, deep, loud, low bass and sound pretty good doing it. Each has its own pro's and con's, the Mags will probably sound the best, but might not get quite as loud. I ordered 2 15" Mags from the group buy, I have just read too many good things about them to pass them up at that price. If you go with the Mags, I would go with one Sundown wired @.5ohms. Watch some vids of the mags, they are very efficient, and 900watts is right under the rms rating. If you feel you want more, you can always purchase a second amp later, altho I feel you wont need to do this. Kaelen |
