Thursday, December 07, 2006 - 05:16 GMT yeah plug that so we can compare to the apx and see if it has some guts but by the way the apx was plugged at a 220 volts outled and took it like a champ and the coil looked like new it was around 26000 rms close to 30k rms watts at like 60 hz

Thursday, December 07, 2006 - 05:18 GMT the prob is chad not the amperage its the fcat it wont be dc anymore like in a car it will be ac. which dc is continuous and ac is little pulses which the frequency is 60 in the us so it will be getting 60 pulses every second thats what messes it up.

Thursday, December 07, 2006 - 05:20 GMT come one now rob. you can't compare this sub to that monster apx. give me a break. but 110v i know it can take. isn't the apx suppose to handle like 30,000 wrms for short burps? when it comes to power, rob is right when he talks about the apx. they are just about the toughest they can be.

Thursday, December 07, 2006 - 05:54 GMT mr kebo the amp takes dc and converts it to ac when it sends it to the subs. that is why when you set the gain with dmm, you set your dmm to ac volts. i realized that 110v would be around 12,000 wrms at 1 ohm. i think my sub can take it. the question is what frequency will that be?

Thursday, December 07, 2006 - 06:01 GMT 60hz. thats pretty good. my car peaks at 51hz. i should get a tl and meter it while the sub is plugged in to the wall. how about i get a strong power inverter in my car and just plug the sub to that. you think i will get full 110v out of the inverter?

Thursday, December 07, 2006 - 19:25 GMT What will happen is you're going to blow a fuse. the standard wall outlets are only rated for a max of ~25-30 amps. which =~22500watts If you are going to try it you need a load that will give you about 1500 watts, as depending on if you're house is new or old there could be problems going above that. Like a house fire at worst, at best just a blown fuse. The wires in the wall could heat up adn start a fire. Dont get me wrong, i would love to see a vid of it. But be careful as i dont wanna see you're house burn down because of it.

Thursday, December 07, 2006 - 19:33 GMT IT wont burn down the house or nething....its the same thing if you have too many things going at one time like a toaster, foreman grill, and microwave....it will pop the breaker once it reaches the most current....15-25 amps in most houses....not sure exactly what yours is.
