Monday, December 04, 2006 - 01:17 GMT I lost track of the other thread I made about this so I have to ask it again... Should I double baffle my box for a Q18? I really don't want to go out and get more wood now lol, I have just enough to complete it w/o it

Monday, December 04, 2006 - 01:21 GMT it could help, but you dont need to. just use some wooden support bars, or wooden dowels. the threaded rods work too.

Monday, December 04, 2006 - 02:26 GMT 18's are large drivers that are heavy and have a tremendous amount of force behind them. I hihgly reccomend double baffling it.

Monday, December 04, 2006 - 02:56 GMT alright well im going to do the double baffle after all. i think im going to just skip the bracing, double baffle and the port should give it enough rigidness... my box is 8cuft before all displacement. tuned to 30 hz. port dimensions are 5 x 13.25 x 15.5

Monday, December 04, 2006 - 09:05 GMT cut the same size of length and width and glue them together, clamp them down so you get the tightest result. and let it dry for a day atleast before using the box again. After you applied the two piecies together you can screw both piece's together if you want to get a tighter bond.
