Friday, December 01, 2006 - 02:51 GMT i just put that for the subject so it wasnt OT. i just got a 200/125a alt from iraggi. i hooked it up and i wired it with big 3. when i hooked it up i did get a little antifreeze on the belts. the alternator is making squealing noises sometimes when i turn on the car, and sometimes when i pump the system up with and without touching the gas pedal. I know that the belt is tight because its a self tensioner. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Friday, December 01, 2006 - 17:41 GMT sounds like the tensioner is not putting the right amount of pressure on the belt. Is the pulley the same size as the stock one?

Saturday, December 02, 2006 - 04:22 GMT james, the pully on the new alt is smaller. about 3/4 the size of the stock one i think. so you think its not putting enough pressure on the belt? is that be a reason im still not gettin my voltage to stay up? how do i fix this, if its a self tensioner?

Saturday, December 02, 2006 - 05:08 GMT change pulleys, I have had the same trouble on alts, If its a self tensioner it needs the pulley changed, or a half inch shorter belt!
