Canada Post Number: 362 Registered: Aug-05 | I'm gonna start making a 14V Power supply so I can hook up my nine.1 in the house, because of vehicle issues... I plan on just running a switched wire from the + straight to the remote, giving it a 14V remote turn on.... With this, what should I have my gain set at? |

Gold Member Username: N2audioLawrence, Ks USA Post Number: 1027 Registered: Mar-04 | it says nothing about needing a high voltage power supply, and it's rated at 12.5v. I don't think there would be anything to gain with more than 14v. 16+ could be very bad. |

Canada Post Number: 366 Registered: Aug-05 | ill most likely be using a vcr power supply or something similar, to step voltage down to 14v... ...sorry, had a brain f@rt and thought for some reason i was supposed to match HU remote voltage to gain ? i dont know what i was thinking.... signal will be coming from probably a JVC receiver, or Marantz receiver... should i just measure the output voltage on those and set gain accordingly? |

Canada Post Number: 367 Registered: Aug-05 | alright.... yeah i'm making it in electronics, it'll probably be around 13 volts, not sure about current yet... is there an 'overkill' amount of current for them? ive got a HUGE as$ transformer im using for the power supply.... havent had the chance to check out what kind of current it'll put out yet though.. |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 2109 Registered: Jan-06 | that should draw about 116amps of current |
