Gold Member Username: RedlinerWilmington, Ma Post Number: 3256 Registered: Jun-05 | i just think it matter on the driver itself not the cone but i could b wrong
Gold Member Username: BestmankindFi AudioBTL Post Number: 7479 Registered: Oct-05 | i know the driver has lot to do with it. my question is why would a company choose to use a flat cone? according to them it gives off better sq. i doubt they would do it just for looks. |

Bronze Member Username: Fi_car_audioHades, NV Post Number: 56 Registered: Sep-06 | There really isnt a difference when it comes to a subwoofer. The cone acts as a piston if properly designed regardless of actual shape. Flat, curvilinear, straight or odd with all sorts of pressed in shapes that look pretty made out of poly.... it really doesnt matter if it is rigid. Now for a full range or a speaker playing in a higher passband, cone shape and geometry makes a HUGE difference. Thanks... Scott |

Gold Member Username: Troy81Tavernier, Fl Us Post Number: 1405 Registered: Mar-06 | if a cone is rigid it wont distort as bad and the way i look at it is a flat cone is the opposite of distortion so i would say it has better SQ jmho
Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 7575 Registered: Dec-04 | it also has a flat (off axis) point, which = better control which= better SQ. Now this is all on paper in the natural world? who knows.
