Out of nowhere my amp just started to go into protection mode and I wanna say its a bad ground. How would I fix this problem becuase I only have like one bolt that can be used in the trunk and thats what im using for the ground. It was working good for months then just outta nowhere just stopped working. I checked the subwoofer wiring like 5 times to make sure its hooked up correctly so my only other suggestions is either a bad ground or the amp went bad, I can only turn the bass knob up like 1/4 anything past it the amp goes into protection mode. What can I do this fix this problem with the ground cuz im leaning toward thats the problem is the ground. I have a kicker zx1500.1 running 2 kicker 12" L7's

if those are dual 4 ohm subs and you have it wired down to 1 ohm that is your problem that amp is only stable at 2 ohms, unhook the subs and see if it still goes into protect, if so you fried that amp......

no they are dual 2 ohm subs. Its been working good for months but i been moving my amp and stuff around a lot cuz i had to take my box out of my trunk a couple times. and now I cant turn the bass past 1/4 without the amp shutting off

what do mean by that? like just get a screw and just bolt the ground wire down to the floor of the trunk? and what if it still don't work is it possible for one of the subs to be messed up if the amp goes into protection.

get a wire wheel on a drill. Find a spot where you can grind down to bare metal. drill a hole, (make sure you dont hit anything underneath) Use a Large bolt, and a wire terminal and resecure. Put silocne on it after to prevent corrosion. Check connection at amp for loose power/ground connections too. Do you have an inline fuse? check that with the DMM with ohms to make sure you have no half blown fuse.

the only other fuse i have is under the hood thats connected to the battery which is a 150A fuse which I did check that so thats fine. But just curious if by chance 1 of the subs is bad or going bad can that cause the amp to go into protection mode to. and I know my ground wire is like 3ft long is that to big for a ground wire or is that perfect cuz thats the size it came with my amp kit a while back.
