Bronze Member Username: camPost Number: 15 Registered: Nov-06 | So I figured out what i'm gonna get and measured the spot behind the back seat in my little tracker. -1 Assassin 12 -The PPI AX606.2 -Panasonic MXE CQ-C7203U from Crutchfield for the head unit http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=300&tab=features _and_specs&i=133C7203 -Maybe these MB quarts http://www.cardomain.com/item/MBQDKF116 Now onto the enclosure. Here's the WinISD file: http://www.filefactory.com/file/4fe814/ If you don't have WinISD the box will be 2.8cuft without the port or bracing or anything. I just need to figure out how much the bracing and the port will take away from the volume. When they say 2.0 cu ft on the AA site do they mean 2 cu ft without the sub in there or 2.0 cu ft + whatever the sub takes up? I guessed it would take up .8 cu ft but this is my first box and my first install so i have no idea. Anyway could you check that out n let me know if I screwed up. heres a picture of it in winisd imageshack .us/img122/8131/winisdboxel4.png |

Gold Member Username: Logan__tilleHD3, Www.Audioque... United States Post Number: 2530 Registered: Feb-06 | Whats the box tuned too? You wont need to brace that box. The port will do enough bracing. |
Bronze Member Username: camPost Number: 21 Registered: Nov-06 | check the pic that'll tell you most of it. im not exactly sure what im doin with this so thats why posted it. but to stop any spikes in the graph on winisd i tuned it to 20hz. |
Bronze Member Username: camPost Number: 22 Registered: Nov-06 | how will the port brace it? im using a circular port. |
Bronze Member Username: camPost Number: 23 Registered: Nov-06 | o sh_t the ports gotta be 1m to stop it from whistlin on this box. what a b_tch. |
Bronze Member Username: camPost Number: 24 Registered: Nov-06 | anyone know the displacement of an assassin 12. i checked the site but i couldnt find it. |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 1891 Registered: Jan-06 | its like .2 ish its pointless to tune that low IMO it would be easyer to just seal it up. and that last link logan posted is a good buy. but that one you posted isnt bad |
Bronze Member Username: camPost Number: 25 Registered: Nov-06 | well if its .2 then ima guess the port will be .1. so thats 2.5 instead of 2 like i had so one sec. |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 1894 Registered: Jan-06 | ok the ports displacement is more then .2 first figure out how big you want the sub to be in, id choose 2cubes plus port. if your doing aero port i would get flared ends from partsexpress.com and use 4" pipe then if you go that route instead of slot port determine the displacement of the aero port by 3.14r^2 i think. subwoofertools.com and winisd are your friend |
