I'm just curious....

Which will be louder? Amp is producing 488wrms @ 2 ohms.

1. 2006 Alpine Type R (12")

2. 2 Infinity's 1230(300wrms each) (12")

Please don't recommend other subs or amps, etc. I finding out for someone and that's all they have to work with

really? I heard 1 12" infinity on on 241wrms and it was crazy in the little hatchback. I was extremely impressed. I figured double the surface area would make it louder. Even tho I'm loosing 100watts on the infinitys

Hatchbacks are easy to get loud. The R's will definitely get louder than the Infinity's. Those are geared for SQ

the infinitys sound great though i heard one and it sounded clean as hell

i agree with you, double the surface area and that would be louder.

but it still depends alot on your setup, no matter what sub
