Saturday, November 18, 2006 - 06:41 GMT stock alt right? Usually IMO, a stock alt with a good battery such as a optima/odyssey/or kinetik will hold up to 1200rms. But thats all IMO. Most people upgrade alts when they usually go more near 2krms and over and then more batts and such. Get a good battery and do a big 3.

Saturday, November 18, 2006 - 16:08 GMT i would say upgrade the alternator definantly. My car is an 03 with a 105a alt, and im running 1500rms. It doesnt handle it very easily. My gain is set with volume on 22, but the alt can only handle it up to like 17. The lights start to dim out after leaving it up for about 10 seconds also. Then u have to recharge the batt reving the engine for like 30 seconds. haha. Good thing i ordered a 200/125.

Saturday, November 18, 2006 - 17:48 GMT stock alts barely put anything out at idle. yes you can run 1200wrms but at high volume you won't see 14+ volts which means you won't see the full potential of your amp.

Sunday, November 19, 2006 - 01:33 GMT Subs dont produce power. so 1500rms is what the amp is pulling in watts to power the sub or subs.
