Bronze Member Username: AntisignBakersfield, California USA Post Number: 17 Registered: Jul-06 | Ok lol, its all the wood that I had and no its just spray paint for now because im poor and couldnt afford carpet or anything. But with the wood ive heard that you are supposed to use MDF? Whats the difference?? |
Silver Member Username: J_baby15Kentucky Post Number: 787 Registered: Feb-06 | MDF=more dense, less flex. Plywood wont sound terrible tho. You should try facin the subs back and not up, should sound a bit louder and deeper, at least it does for me. |
Bronze Member Username: AntisignBakersfield, California USA Post Number: 19 Registered: Jul-06 | So have the subs fire back? or do you think it would sound good if i faced them towards the back seat?? |

It will look "finnished". Also, If you use primer first, sand and then paint it, it will look smooth, with out the wood grain showing. unless you wanted the wood grain showing. And MDF is better for boxes, unless you use a quality ply like cabinet grade 3/4 birch or oak. but Very nice box for your first build. And as far as carpeting it, Ive been using fabric for mine. its cheap and original. But a nice paint job works well too. |
