New member Username: ThakidgameHialeah Gardens, Florida U.S.A. Post Number: 1 Registered: Oct-06 | Hey, Im new to Car Audio... Yesterday I went to Brandsmart U.S.A. looking for some subs. I stumbled upon the JBL gt4-12 subs. I saw 1000 Watts.. Im like wow.. that must bump hard.. Now I returned to brandsmart today to look for the cables I need to install the subs, and I asked what cables do i need? The dude asked me how big is the amp and which subs? Im like those subs.. and I want to buy like a 2000 watt 2-way amp.. since what I thought was 2000/2= 1000 watt for each sub. He told me each sub had 250 R.M.S. , this is what I don't understand. What is R.M.S. and what is the total watt I could go with it? Can someone explain how this works.. and which is the best amp (Meaning loudest without blowing them) that would go with these subs? |

I'll tell you how it sounds, and take some video of it, and place it on youtube. I'm already thinking about a system for next year. I'm going to save up and buy Alpine Type R's. Ive seen so many video's on youtube. Those things look crazy! I'mma buy also a alpine headunit, and I got to see what amp, powers them up good to give them that huge bass I see in videos.
