Silver Member Username: Kwrubel21Shelby Township, MI United States Post Number: 233 Registered: Dec-05 | i should be getting a new system installed within two weeks. right now, i've got my mind set on 4 12" kicker L7's powered by two hifonics brutus 1606D's. i'll probably put the subs in one big sealed box(for a little bit better sq), each sub with it's own chamber. a dealer around my house might still have the older versions of this sub left so i'd get them for about 120 a pieceeee. let me know what you think it'll sound like. be honest. |

Gold Member Username: Logan__tilleAudioqueUSA Post Number: 2012 Registered: Feb-06 | how big of a box are we talking? |
Silver Member Username: Kwrubel21Shelby Township, MI United States Post Number: 234 Registered: Dec-05 | as big as possible without going over the max. reccomended size. my friend had 2 12" l7's in a big sealed box. so we traded subs for a day and they sounded pretty good. i'm not gonna say they sounded awesome, because they were far from it, but they didn't sound bad at all. |
Gold Member Username: Logan__tilleAudioqueUSA Post Number: 2013 Registered: Feb-06 | thats good, i would still go ported. around 35hz, it will get loud and have nice sq. |
Silver Member Username: GrebnereonPost Number: 345 Registered: Mar-06 | nice sq? probly wouldnt be any worse than it is sealed |
Silver Member Username: GrebnereonPost Number: 346 Registered: Mar-06 | i think when they made L7s, they were just like "lets make a sub with no Sound quality whatsoever, itll be awesome, people will love it" |
Gold Member Username: Logan__tilleAudioqueUSA Post Number: 2015 Registered: Feb-06 | it will have nice sq for an L7.lol. but i would not put an L7 in a sealed box. |
Silver Member Username: Kwrubel21Shelby Township, MI United States Post Number: 236 Registered: Dec-05 | i've heard subs sound much worse than an L7. they're not that bad if you make a good box for em. the thing is logan, i always seem to fu*k up the port sizes when i'm tuning it. if i can get someone to help me out with the box/install i'll probably end up going ported. |

Silver Member Username: Kwrubel21Shelby Township, MI United States Post Number: 237 Registered: Dec-05 | logan, is that box builder any good?? if so, i'll definitely use it. thanks. |
Silver Member Username: J_baby15Kentucky Post Number: 684 Registered: Feb-06 | That subwoofer tools thing never works for me, it always shows a huge box with like 300sq in of port space. |
Gold Member Username: Basshead86Try Google Post Number: 7677 Registered: Aug-05 | you have to mess with the subs Xmax to manipulate the port area.... otherwise you end up with OUTLANDISH port areas for high xmax subs. |

Silver Member Username: RenegadesrunLafayette, IN US Post Number: 468 Registered: Oct-04 | If you buy the L7's..... PM me and ill teach you a trick that will make the cones last one hell of alot longer than they do. Personally, id buy 2 12's from a company with a lower return/failure rate and port them. 2 ported will be louder than 4 sealed in most applications. Whatever makes you happy. |
Silver Member Username: GrebnereonPost Number: 354 Registered: Mar-06 | i already tried to inform him about L7s but, he doesnt pay any attention |
Silver Member Username: Kwrubel21Shelby Township, MI United States Post Number: 239 Registered: Dec-05 | i payed attention, i got what you said klez. its just i can get l7's really cheap. and i'm sure if i take more care of them than someone who doesn't give a s*it, i can make em last longer. |
