New member Username: Hueso007Post Number: 5 Registered: Aug-06 | I have a good one for Mike. I was over hearing a buddy of mine tell me that there is an adaptor for the stock stereo (connecting plug) from the car that you can plug into and attach a new stereo unit without cutting wires. Is this true? If so, damn I've been gone a while. If they do exist, what are they called and where can I purchase one? Thank a million. Aaron |

But for some reson when I try to connect the speakers to the new radio I don't get any sound.. I have the wiring diagram for it but I don't get any sound... I have the radio with rear amps, I'm not to sure if I didn't connect the wire for the amp... I don't really know where to connect it or which wires... So please help me!!! | ||
Silver Member Username: LeewKetchikan, ALASKA USA Post Number: 522 Registered: Jan-06 | Louie,Download this diagrams, print them out,go to the car,see which oem amp you got. check all sound system fuses (it's only three of them). Then connect all wires exatcly by schema!double check!Start your car(or turn to ACC). P.S.the second problem, could be problem with "Om's" setting.Oem speakers and amp does not match to "Om's"setting at your new HU.,then you need buy new set of speakers and go straight ...

Silver Member Username: LeewKetchikan, ALASKA USA Post Number: 540 Registered: Jan-06 | Nicholas you have two choices: short way:remove trim panel on a door/be carefull, dont broke plastic retainers/.then remove turn/hazard-headlamp swith assembly and look for light blue(for left turn) & dark blue(right turn) wires.Run new line through post to the mirror with main line(like speaker, power windows,locks...etc.).Watch out for glass, when it's going down, glass can cut your new line.Ground wire you can connect into any unpainted metal place inside of the door.Put everything back.Do the same with another door(if it's right door then the wire will be much longer.) make everywhere proper connection!
--------------------------- second way: you can run each line, straight from park/turn signal lamp.Wires is the same color light blue for left turn signal & dark blue for right turn signal. But when you open the hood and see all this wires going to somewhere,it's looks...you know how..
let me know,if you got some problem. Goodluck. |

New member Username: NickintxKilgore, Tx US Post Number: 5 Registered: Aug-06 | hahah ok ok, I know im back Mike but I just couldnt resist you experitse haha, anyways here is my newest adventure....here is what we have. I just recently purchased an aftermarket tachometer, I will be hooking it up in my '98 CHEVY CAVALIER, now keep in mind I DID NOT PREVOUSLY HAVE ONE OF ANY KIND, that means I dont have one in my cluster, ok now that we are on the same page. I have 4 wires from my Tach, Red and Black of course the obvious. Now I also have a Yellow wire(which as described in directions belongs to my battery), and also have the infamous GREEN wire, now this is where my troubles begin. I can hook up my other 3 wires, but am not sure on how, or even where Im going to need to hook up my green wire??????? I mean it says an sucessful ignition wire, but Im not sure how to tap in or exactly where to do all this. Ok so Im not sure where my coil is at? so can someone please enlighten me on how I need to go about this proceedure??? | ||
Silver Member Username: LeewKetchikan, ALASKA USA Post Number: 583 Registered: Jan-06 | sucessful ignition wire this is ACC aka RUN wire,in your car the color of this wire is PINK,now, you can hook it straight to ignition lock or cig.lighter,GET for your self tester, just turn key to run or acc position and check if it's hot, then turn off and check it if it's cold. Open hood, find a sparkplug, now if you see 4 FAT wires, look to the other end of this wires, have to be like box made from hard plastic/this is it..COIL/.On a COIL find plug with thin wires and go by schema do not forget to check which motor you got 2.2L or 2.4L
