Noob question. Can a 12 get as low as an 18???

Can a twelve in the right box get as low as an 18. The reason I'm asking is because I'm about to order a new sub just to get something different and was going to get a fi q or aq hd3. And I don't want to step up to an 18 q or a 15 aq if I don't have to... to hit the lows.

The size doesn't matter, but generally larger subs have lower Fs, but not always. you want to look for a 12 with a low Fs. and then if you use a ported enclosure, tune it low, generally just above its Fs.
