United States Post Number: 121 Registered: Sep-06 | i thought the box was tuned to 40hz 1.9 cuft but i guess it was 1.8 tuned to 45? so now im going to try 3 cuft and 35hz and see how it sounds. im not sure what a sweep is im very new to this but i know the guy at the shop who metered it had special cds he was playin and he kept messin with everything b4 he metered it. im gunna try a few boxes to see what can give me the most output. any suggestions on a box for most spl outta the one 12? |

Gold Member Username: James1115Ct Post Number: 6805 Registered: Dec-04 | the higher tuned box will yield higher numbers(most likely) DD reccomends a 40hz tune on that sub also. You need to find out the resonant freq of your car, then build a box to match it and you will get your loudest #'s. If you dynomat propperly you can add a decent amount, and by doubling the power and another sub you could get up close to 150, 150 is not as easy as you think. Proper tuning is crucial. |

Silver Member Username: RvlacosEl Paso, T.X. United States Post Number: 126 Registered: Sep-06 | how do u figure the res. freq? |
Gold Member Username: AdddisorderWest palm, Florida Post Number: 1224 Registered: Jan-06 | like i siad seal your box. play a sweep of freq. find what freq is the loudest in your car. use win isd to calculate what tuning the box has to be at to peak at that freq. |
