Hi! No my subject is not a joke. Just bought an '85 CJ7 and installed an after market CD player. The wire job the previous owner did was a total hack job and I tried to clean it up the best I can. I have my red/yellow/black wires all hooked up and working great, but I am not retaining any memory to my player (ie: programmed stations and such). I thought maybe they had reversed the yellow/red wires, but that failed to solve the problem. I followed the yellow wire under the dash and under the hood. There were like 3 splice jobs on this thing. What a mess! So I replaced it with a basic 16g yellow wire. I am wondering if maybe the wrong wire was hacked into the firewall?????? Not sure. Isn't one of these supposed to be a direct link off the battery as a constant??????? Can anyone help me? Maybe a diagram or advise on to where the wires should be connecting under the hood????? I think the previous owner was more clueless than I!!!!!!!
