i'm thinking about getting infinity kappa 2-way speakers, and they have external x-overs. are ext x-overs better than internals that are in most 2-ways?
just about all component separates have an external crossover module. that module usually allows for optional configurations, like attenuating the tweeter if its toob right, and so forth as well as better speaker positioning compared to coaxials.

I think he's talking about kappa coaxials. I had a friend who had the 2 ways, and they plain out rocked. Yes, the external crossovers are much more effective than the passive crossovers most coaxials come with. They offer a smoother transition between the woofer and tweeter and get rid of the "screechy" sound that woofers make in the 3.5-4khz range. The only downside is an external crossover eats up a tad more wattage, and needs more space for mounting, but the difference in SQ is definately worth it. The 2 ways you're looking at are great, definately my favorite coaxial on the market, although the kappa component system does sound better.
