Thursday, October 05, 2006 - 23:35 GMT Features Size 12" Woofer Cone Material Interlaced Carbon Fiber Reinforced IMPP Cone Woofer Surround Wide-Roll 3-Layer KEVLAR Fiber Woven Radial with Honeycomb Cloth Overhung Surround Design Voice Coil High Inductance, 4-Layer, Long Voice Coil Voice Coil Wire Ceramic Coated Voice Coil Bobbin 7-Slit Glass Imide Voice Coil Bobbin Damper (Spider) Conex Damper Damper Ring Yes Top Plate Thick 1.2" (30mm) Projected Pole Yoke with Vented Pole Aero-Dynamic Magnetic Gap Design Magnet Construction Massive Triple Stacked (320 oz.) Basket Design Aluminum Die-Cast Rigid Chassis Gasket (None) Wire Terminals 8-Gauge Wire Terminal Specifications Watts MAX. Music Power 5000 Watts Watts Nominal Power Handling 2000 Watts Frequency Response 18Hz ~ 2kHz Sensitivity 88dB Ohm Rating DVC (2ohm or 8ohm) Recommended Enclosure 1.5 Cubic Feet ----- The sensitivity is rated at 88dB so it would distor quicker in a ported box, but it's made for SPL so I'd say ported is the way to go. I wouldn't expect much SQ out of it, anyways. The website says 1.5 cu/ft but I'd say bigger would be better.. that 1.5cu/ft is probably for a sealed enclosure

Friday, October 06, 2006 - 01:37 GMT That is NOT a world record sub. Tottie's (Scottie Johnson) subs are modded. Coils and formers, as the stock coils cant handle the power, and the stock formers will fold easily.
