New member Username: Dj_kiddPikeville, Ky Post Number: 9 Registered: Oct-06 | Hey man why in the world would you upgrade those subs you cant get no better than the old school kickers...and by the way I was taking the box apart to put plexi-glass around it!!! |
Gold Member Username: DrsmithMontana USA Post Number: 1118 Registered: Nov-04 | ROFL!!! what do you mean the rest looks nice haha, you just ripped on everything in the pic |
Gold Member Username: DrsmithMontana USA Post Number: 1119 Registered: Nov-04 | and you can get much much much much better than old kickers |
New member Username: Dj_kiddPikeville, Ky Post Number: 10 Registered: Oct-06 | Man come on I have a little S10 I cant handle anything bigger... the truck practically falls apart when it kicks...lol but I admit it is not the best but it is good enough for me. |
Silver Member Username: MakmillionMN United States Post Number: 868 Registered: Apr-06 | Is that box made from birch ply?! |
Silver Member Username: Sb2012Iowa US Post Number: 323 Registered: Jul-06 | well post when u get the plexi on there... |
Bronze Member Username: Dj_kiddPikeville, Ky Post Number: 11 Registered: Oct-06 | man i really do wanna upgrade the old kickers but just take a look at my little S10 how small the cab is and all the bass flowing into the cab the doors just about fly off...lol |
Silver Member Username: Denali_on_22sMaryville, TN Us Post Number: 316 Registered: Feb-06 | hahaha i just thought i would completely contradict myself Doc? haha no biggy, and DJ those comps are old as hell and an upgrade would be easy to find... maybe even the new model kickers... anyways good luck with the plexi... i'd say your box will fall apart before you truck will though |
Bronze Member Username: Dj_kiddPikeville, Ky Post Number: 12 Registered: Oct-06 | Yea Mick the box is made from birch plywood.. |
Silver Member Username: Sb2012Iowa US Post Number: 324 Registered: Jul-06 | make a new one out of mdf... |
Silver Member Username: Denali_on_22sMaryville, TN Us Post Number: 318 Registered: Feb-06 | yeah... that would be a good call |
Bronze Member Username: Dj_kiddPikeville, Ky Post Number: 13 Registered: Oct-06 | yea man that is what I am gonna do here shortly!!! |
Silver Member Username: MakmillionMN United States Post Number: 873 Registered: Apr-06 | don't listen to them! pfft! birch ply is lighter, AND stronger than MDF.. I wish my box was made of birch ply. and I'm dead serious.. |
Silver Member Username: MakmillionMN United States Post Number: 874 Registered: Apr-06 | no offense you guys.. but birch ply is alot better to use than mdf, it costs more but it's stronger and you don't need 3/4", you can get away with 1/2" and it'll still be stronger than 3/4" MDF |
Bronze Member Username: Dj_kiddPikeville, Ky Post Number: 14 Registered: Oct-06 | yea man that is very true but either way I am gonna have to have a new box cause this one is getting a little old... |
Silver Member Username: RenegadesrunLafayette, IN US Post Number: 227 Registered: Oct-04 | Birch ply ownz MDF. In just about every way except price. The old Solo's kicked a55, and still do. I dont see any reason to upgrade if your happy. I know they guys have said, there is better, well, i got news for them. There will ALWAYS be something bigger, badder, better. Chasing those three will leave you broke, bumpless between builds, and never truly satisfied. If your happy DJ, leave it be. |

Silver Member Username: 420alldaylongPost Number: 446 Registered: Sep-06 | DJ KIDD How many watts are those 15" subs? |
Bronze Member Username: Dj_kiddPikeville, Ky Post Number: 22 Registered: Oct-06 | They are around 375-400 watts rms... |
Silver Member Username: 420alldaylongPost Number: 447 Registered: Sep-06 | How many watts do you think that amp is pushing out. |
Bronze Member Username: Dj_kiddPikeville, Ky Post Number: 23 Registered: Oct-06 | The punch 100ix pushes out 100 watts rms continous power per channel into 4 ohms with less than 0.05% total harmonic distortion from 20-20kHz. But the old punch amps are really powerful!!! |
