actually they're 400 watts RMS a piece..

Do this(if in an SUV):

1" MDF
4 cu/ft
2 sealed chambers (left and right)
2 upfiring subs
2 rear firing subs

left up and left rear in one sealed chamber
right up and right rear in another sealed chamber

these pio 306 r the most popular subs in my country because its cheap & gives some good loudness

HOWEVER many box builders here say these 306 seems 2 love boxes that r larger than what pioneer rec so 2.25 - 2.5cuft / sub ported is what is used ,4" pvc port tuned into low 30s....

you dont need 1" of mdf. there not THAT powerful. 3/4" will do fine

my opinion..only way to go:
subs UP
ports BACK
1" MDF is rediculous 3/4 is fine

u could resin the inside of the box but as many
ppl say it can make or break ur score because it
changes the tuning of ur box
SO IF U RESIN
take into account the volume u are displacing
even if its approximate u should estimate it....
i like the ideas with the aeros my box sounds so much better ith aeros :-)

actually drivin neckeless it doesn affect too much it will add like 2 hz more or less depending on the install, yes thats wat i mean to say resin the inside of the box and the outside for any leaks

you really cannot compare the sound of fiberglass to mdf. fiberglass has a much deeper tone if constructed right. and it will look a hundred times better. but it is a whole lot more work. if you still want to build with mdf though check out this webpage: www.mfr-eng.com they have a program that will tell you everything down to the dimensions of the box. any questions feel free to email me !!!!

drivingreckless.....not drivin neckeless
last time i checked my neck is still stuck to my body....
thts why i sed it can MAKE or BREAK a box....not tht itl will for sure affect it

I'd stick with 1" MDF, I'd also stick with 2 cu/ft per chamber. Trust me, this box + those subs will sound excellent (for pioneers).

If you go with 3/4", you'll have more flexing, the box won't be as strong and you'll want extra supports to reduce the stress on the top and sides of the box from the weight of the subs + the weight of the air pressure they'll produce within the box. You can use 3/4", but if I were building a 4 cu/ft box I'd use at least 1" MDF OR 1/2" birch ply :-)
