Gold Member Username: TheelfkeeperStockbridge, GA USA Post Number: 3152 Registered: Feb-05 | MO has a Premier 860 up for sale. kinda the equivilant to the 780's out now. but if you are looking for something of really high quality and control, check out the Alpine H701 or Pioneer P9 combos. McIntosh units are nice. Premier PRS880 or Eclipse CD7000 as well. |
Silver Member Username: MakmillionMN United States Post Number: 748 Registered: Apr-06 | I've owned the deh-p860mp, then the deh-p960mp and I was looking into the P9, but wouldn't be able to afford the DSP right away and didn't know if it would work without the DSP? I've never heard of McIntosh making head units? The 880 id hidious, ignoring the fact that I said cosmetics don't matter, and the CD7000 is very interesting.. but very expensive.. I notice that Blaupunkt has changed their line, they now have very attractive layouts with TFT displays, Blaupunkt Memphis MP66 to be exact.. but it has a signal to noise ratio of only 80dB.. what do you guys think about that? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-eKfE3HcIWWw/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=300&I=023MEMMP66 |
Gold Member Username: TheelfkeeperStockbridge, GA USA Post Number: 3154 Registered: Feb-05 | personally, i wouldn't use Blapupunkt anything. there was a guy selling the P9 combo on caraudio.com. i don't know if he still has it or not. Mcintosh, not the mcIntosh you are prob thinking about (Apple computers, lol) http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/mcprod/shopdisplaycategories.asp |
Gold Member Username: Extrmndor3Chicago, Ill Us Post Number: 2017 Registered: Feb-06 | oh u dont want cheap?? well theres a clario pro audio that looks so sleek but yeah it cost over 1k, but yeah the rockford are not that bad they are good but they lack a few extras |
Silver Member Username: MakmillionMN United States Post Number: 772 Registered: Apr-06 | Well, lilrob, if you don't leave some model numbers I can only assume you're making this up :\ 1k won't be a problem, IF it's worth it.. and the ONLY top of the line clarion I found had very nice specs... but looked like a 50 dollar cd player from walmart. I won't invest in a 1k dollar head unit that looks like that.. so the clarion AND the alpine are out. Looking at the dex-p9 now, also looking at another 860mp |
Silver Member Username: MakmillionMN United States Post Number: 773 Registered: Apr-06 | Brandon, LOL! I know about McIntosh amps Just never heard of them making head units? |

Silver Member Username: Tdawg30Ohio USA Post Number: 291 Registered: Jun-06 | ahh i see. lol thats what i look foward to almost all year. Bday and Xmas to get money for TOYS!!!!!!!!! |
Silver Member Username: MakmillionMN United States Post Number: 777 Registered: Apr-06 | I'm afraid I'm too old for Christmas this year At least for the gifts.. I might get some target gift cards, though! But as far as my birthday goes, my whole family knows about how that guy put a gun to me for my stereo and maybe they'll hook me up for my birthday so I'll actually have a decent head unit? I don't know, though.. |
Silver Member Username: Tdawg30Ohio USA Post Number: 293 Registered: Jun-06 | lmao haha not toys like play toys, toys like TOYS as in car stereo and such. |
Silver Member Username: MakmillionMN United States Post Number: 782 Registered: Apr-06 | I know what you meant... but I sure do miss my gumby and pokey hardened clay figurines ALSO My buddy is going to hook me up with a discount on some head units... I can choose from (so far these brands): Alpine Pioneer (audio video and navigation units) Pioneer Premier Panasonic Kenwood Kenwood Excelon Jensen (audio video and navigation units) Sony I'm going to filter through these brands... maybe you guys can recommend a couple units from each brand? |
