Thursday, September 21, 2006 - 00:57 GMT uh, you do not want to hook the REM wire to a 12V constant lead or the amps will never turn off....you want it either hooked to the REM lead on the back of your HU, blue white (not the Power antenna wire though), or to a ACC lead on the fuse box.

Thursday, September 21, 2006 - 01:39 GMT can i just use one HALF of speaker wire..to use that single wire for the remote turn on i dont have any special wire or will 16 speaker wire gauge do the job...i got extra that....but i also can cut my 12 gauge im using for my sub.. and i changed my mind im going to use the 12volt from my head unit much easier.and makes more sense

Thursday, September 21, 2006 - 02:07 GMT lol. i was thinkin the same thinkg brandon. usually the remote wire is a blue wire with a white stripe, if ur head unit does not have that, just hook ur rem wire to the "IGN" fuse in ur fuse block.

Thursday, September 21, 2006 - 02:20 GMT You want the remote wire from a switched accessory wire, a wire that only has power when the car is turned on. The remote wire from the back of your headunit is there for a reason...

Thursday, September 21, 2006 - 02:27 GMT any kind of wire will work for a REM wire, not even .5A of power will go through it so 16AWG will work.
